Hey Ann,
Thanks for the congrats. I love my little snickerdoodle to pieces and even though I came to motherhood late, I am really enjoying it.
It’s nice to know you look for my books and I can tell you, there is shortly going to be much more to see. I have gone part time at work in order to spend more time with the baby and so I am writing more. Loose id and EC are still my two main pubs and I am going to have books coming out with both of them much more often. So keep an eye out.
And I am going to check out good vibrations. As for the Pirates DVD, I am pretty sure it was filmed right here in Tampa. I remember there was a big scandal because the producers rented this boat to film on and didn’t tell the people they rented if from *what* they were filming. lol

Hey Shanta,
Good to hear from you again. Yup–it truely was terrible porn. But I guess you’re not going to get the best quality actors for that kind of thing. How many clasically trained thesbians are willing to get naked and do the nasty on film? lol. Yes, I love the Piano and In the Cut. I also have a thing for Last of the Mohicans although there is no real graphic sex in it. But with Daniel Day Lewis, I can *imagine* all kinds of things. Getting all hot and bothered here. lol

I adore Thief of Hearts–it truely is a fantasy after a woman’s heart. Of course the chances of the hot theif actually reading her diaries and then becoming the person she wants are absolutely nil but that’s why it’s a fantasy. He actually listens to her–I love that. Of course, when I first discovered the movie I was just looking for something dirty to watch when my parents weren’t looking. I remember sneaking downstairs at three in the morning to watch it and thinking they were going to walk in at any minute. Guess I’ve always had a dirty mind. lol.

I just wanted to tell you that I’m a big fan of the movie “Thief of Hearts”. I even have a copy of it in my movie collection. I love it because it’s all about a woman’s fantasy that becomes real. All though it doesn’t work out in the end.But at least she got to experience it, and to me that’s the important thing. I hope things “heat up” for you soon.

Hi, Evangeline!

I love the new website. And, as I think I haven’t been in touch since waaay back, congrats! I’m really glad to hear about the baby.

As to the Candida Royalle film – I’m afraid it sounds a lot like the one I got conned into trying a couple years ago. That one was about a series of encounters experienced by five different women, each linked by this dress they each borrowed. The dress is the link between the vignettes. But it was much as you described – really, really stilted acting, the usual awful music, and maybe only about 5 minutes of the entire project that had any real appeal for me, I guess.

I sometimes wonder whether there really IS such a thing as women-friendly porn out there, or if it’s just another marketing ploy? Because for every review I’ve read (usually by a male) that says “this film will appeal to couples and/or women” there are usually two written by women that vehemently deny it.

*sigh* We poor women are so deprived, aren’t we?

I’m another one who’s always loved the Piano, though I can’t think of many other “mainstream” films that might fall into the same category. The only two that come to mind are The Final Cut with Meg Ryan (which was pretty graphic, lol) and The Big Easy (funnily enough, with Dennis Quaid).

Care to hint which films other than the Piano you found interesting (so I can go raid my nearest Blockbuster)?

First of all congratulations on your new family member! I was wondering where you went to. Usually, when I check Ellora’s cave or LoosId, I look for anything written by you – so, I was wondering when I would get my next fix.
Secondly, I would try http://www.goodvibes.com they have a web section devoted to “Favorite” DVDs (i.e. DVDs that are staff picks). For example, there’s a movie “Pirates” that was 2008 AVN Award Winner for Top Selling Title of the 2007
